Canalside Early Learning Center

Canalside ELC is a full day pre-school with the options of before and after school hours. We are open from 7am to 4pm, five days a week, ten months a year (late August - mid June).  A half-day pre-school program is also available from 8:30am to 12:30pm.

Canalside ELC uses a theme approach that incorporates all areas of curriculum, including, but not limited to: arts and crafts, blocks, science, music, computers, dramatic play, manipulatives, sensory play, and literature.  Outdoor play is scheduled at least ½ hour per day in the morning and the afternoon, weather permitting.

The goals of Canalside ELC are to create a warm, nurturing environment where children are encouraged to create, explore, problem solve, and share through a variety of materials and media in a positive learning environment; and to promote active learning in a healthy, safe place that fosters self-confidence.

The purpose of the Canalside ELC is to provide quality care for children ages 3 - 6 years, to nurture growth, cognitively, physically, socially, and emotionally through meaningful activities that are diversified and developmentally appropriate; and encouragement that will foster healthy relationships with their peers, their families, their communities, and the world around them.

The staff at Canalside ELC consists of a Director / Lead Teacher, a Teacher, and a Teacher Assistant.  All are highly qualified and each is certified in CPR and Pediatric First Aid.
