The Special Education Department at Upper Cape Tech is dedicated to assisting eligible students in the quest to achieve their academic, vocational and social/emotional potential.
The Special Education staff provides services to students using inclusion and consultation models. Ample supports are offered in content remediation, test preparation, study strategies and executive functioning skills. General education and special education teachers work together to provide services in supported English and supported mathematics classes, using an inclusion model of instructional delivery. In addition, consultation in selected science and social studies classes as well as consultation in the vocational technical programs is offered.
Coordinated academic consultation with parents, general education colleagues and counseling staff is provided by the student's special education liaison to affect a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to student access to the curriculum.
