Environmental Science

This nationally recognized program uses science, engineering, conservation, communication and economics to protect and enhance public health and the environment. Grade 11 and 12 students have the opportunity to earn up to nine college credits from the Environmental Technology Program curriculum. Natural resources, laboratory procedures, engineering design, aquaculture, energy efficiency, communication and presentation are emphasized in a project-based curriculum. Throughout the program, students work on projects that provide authentic workplace experiences and develop skill sets used in a wide variety of environmental disciplines. Students are prepared to take the Massachusetts Water/Wastewater Operator Certification Tests. Students also receive certification in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response 40-hour training including CPR and First Aid certification.
